Comments on Genesis 1:2

2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. (1611)

2 And the earth was without fourme , and was voyde : y darknes [was] upon the face of the deepe, and the fpirite of God moued upon the face of the waters. (1568)

And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.” (Genesis 1:2)

For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:” (2 Peter 3:5)

When God created the original earth (Genesis 1:1) it was standing out of the water (partially) and standing in the water (partially). It was floating like a boat with part of it above the water (standing out of the water) and part of it in the water.

The earth was not fully submerged in water when it was created. It was only partially submerged in water. And there was a judgment upon the Earth after Genesis 1:1.

Genesis 1:2 is written in reverse order chronologically.

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. (Genesis 1:1)

[The gap is here where Lucifer rebelled against God.]

And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. (Genesis 1:2)

Isaiah 28:2 says “Behold, the Lord hath a mighty and strong one, which as a tempest of hail and a destroying storm, as a flood of mighty waters overflowing, shall cast down to the earth with the hand.”

The Lord (the Spirit of God) took his hand and slapped the earth knocking it down into the deep. Or with his hand he cast hailstones down to the earth with such fury that they pushed the earth down into the deep.

Now that the earth is submerged into the deep “darkness was upon the face of the deep”. This darkness was not above the deep in the presence of God. The darkness was in the deep.

Once the earth was submerged into the deep, everything is relative to being inside the deep. When God made the light on the first day and divided the light from the darkness, he created (or exposed or allowed) light inside the deep so that there was now light and darkness in the deep. But up above the deep where God was there was only light.

So the Spirit of God moving upon the face of the waters is the Lord submerging the earth into the deep as a judgment against Satan and his rebellion.

Then darkness was upon the face of the deep meaning that there was darkness in the deep and Satan and all of his followers were in darkness inside the deep. There was not darkness above the deep in the presence of God.

In Genesis 1:6-8, on the second day, God divided the deep into two bodies of water. He split the body of water by placing a firmament between it. This firmament turns out to be the second heaven where the sun, moon, and stars are (verses 14-18). Also this firmament contains the earth after the split of the water.

Before going further, try to imagine the immense pressure that it took to place a space between a body of water if that body of water is airtight. Our ‘outer space’ is somewhat of a vacuum if not a prefect vacuum. That is what you would get if you could create a space amidst an airtight container of water.

Now when God divided the waters on the second day, the earth must have been sitting at the point of division at the time of the split in order for it to remain inside the firmament after the split. If the division of the waters had taken place with the earth at some other point, the earth would have remained either above or below the firmament not inside of it.

With the immense pressure that it took to divide the waters and with the earth sitting at the point of impact the split not only divided the waters but it also divided the earth itself into many pieces. It was only at this point that “the earth was without form, and void”.

Then on the next day (Genesis 1:9-13) God picked out one of those pieces and formed it by separating the water on it from the dry land and putting life into it.

On the fourth day God made more light. At this point, you have (1) the light above the deep where God is, (2) the light that God allowed to shine in the deep, and now (3) the light inside the firmament.

Then on the 5th and 6th days God continued to create life in and on the earth. And he rested on the seventh day.

Comments on Genesis 1:1

1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. (1611)

In the beginyng God created y heaven and the earth. (1568)

Realizing the need to take things things in their proper context, several things must be considered. This verse is normally taken merely as that the first thing that God did is create the heaven and the earth. God's word is from the beginning (Psalms 119:160). The beginning is, of course, when God laid the foundations of the earth (Isaiah 40:21; Job 38:1-14). This is not the beginning of the creation in which Adam and Eve were created (Matthew 19:4; Mark 10:6). The devil sinneth from the beginning (1 John 3:8). He was a murderer and liar from the beginning (John 8:44).

The beginning of Genesis 1:1 is obviously a 'period of time' sometime before the creation of Adam and Eve. It is during this 'time' that Lucifer was created on a day (Ezekiel 28:12-15). Before Lucifer rebelled he was the sum of wisdom and beauty. And the LORD God formed Lucifer of the dust of the ground (“every precious stone”). Lucifer's physical makeup was precious stones, pipes, and tabrets. In the day that God created him, the LORD prepared the built in musical instruments. Lucifer was God's “workmanship” and he played perfect and beautiful music in praise to the Lord while walking “up and down in the midst of the stones of fire”.

When God laid the foundations of the earth (with a cornerstone probably shaped like a pyramid), there were mornings stars and sons of God beholding the glorious event. The original earth had a stone garden named Eden and also the mountain of God with stones of fire.

PAUSE NOTE :

Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

It is often stated that the gap theory contradicts Romans 5:12 by having death exist before Adam versus “by one man (Adam) death entered into the world”. This is such a great discovery that the real evidence is overlooked. If you must make that application concerning death, you also must make it concerning sin. Did Adam bring sin into the world as Romans 5:12 states? Or did Lucifer sin before Adam?

Another thing is that although Lucifer certainly sinned before the creation of Adam, this doesn't even effect death by sin by Adam anyway. Nothing died in the sense of the death of a human. All of the sons of God who rebelled against God with Lucifer changed form in their physical and spiritual makeup. Nobody died.

Back to the original earth :

God prepared everlasting fire for the devil and his angels. They walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. This fire was not prepared as a punishment. It was part of the original earth. The original musicians played glorious praise to God Almighty as they walked up and down in the midst of the fire. The Satanic rock groups try to imitate the original musicians, I guess. Lucifer set his heart as the heart of God (Isaiah 14:13).

Word of the day : Helpmeet

Helpmeet is not a word.

Help and meet are two words.

In Genesis 2, Eve is referred to as an help for Adam. The word "meet" is used as an adjective. An adjective is a word used to describe a noun. The kind of help God desired for Adam is one that would meet him in the sense of matching him. Obviously, none of the beast of the field and fowl of the air and cattle matched Adam.

An other man, a woman man, was required to meet him as an help.

So if you use the terms properly, you either will reverse the order of the terms as "meet help" which shows the word 'meet' as an adjective, which it is, or you will include the other two words in the Bible text "for him".

Repentance

Repentance :
2 Timothy 2:25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
Repentance is “acknowledging of the truth” or at least is the change of mind “to the acknowledging of the truth”. This is obviously a change of mind and turning from deceit to the truth.
Acts 26:20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.
1 Thessalonians 1:9 For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;
Repentance in Acts 26:20 and 1 Thessalonians 1:9 could be explained two different ways.
1. If you say that the “and” in “repent and turn to God” is a connector of the same thing or two names of the same thing, as in “God and Father” from 2 Corinthians 11:31; Ephesians 1:3; Ephesians 4:6; and 1 Peter 1:3, then you would define the meaning of repent as turning to God from idols. Obviously, there would be a change of mind before the turning to God.
2. If you say that “repent and turn to God” are different, repentance would still be the change of mind before the turning to God. Then the ‘action’ produced is the turning to God.
To say that repentance produces a change of action implies a requirement of continual action or works.
It is much better to say that the one thing that true repentance produces is the one act of turning from idols and deceit to God and the acknowledging of the truth before believing on Jesus Christ.
Acts 20:21 Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Manner of Paul

1 Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where was a synagogue of the Jews:
2 And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures,
3 Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ.
4 And some of them believed, and consorted with Paul and Silas; and of the devout Greeks a great multitude, and of the chief women not a few.
5  But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people.
 6 And when they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also;
7 Whom Jason hath received: and these all do contrary to the decrees of Caesar, saying that there is another king, one Jesus.
8 And they troubled the people and the rulers of the city, when they heard these things.
9 And when they had taken security of Jason, and of the other, they let them go.
10 And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews. [Acts 17:1-10]

Paul, A Pattern for Christians :

(1 Corinthians 4:6; 11:1; 1 Timothy 1:16)

Paul's Manner is described as :

1. Reasoning out of the scriptures (Acts 17:2)

2. Opening and Alleging the scriptures (Acts 17:3)

3. Preaching Jesus Christ (Acts 17:3)

4. "Turned the world upside down" (Acts 17:6)

5. "Declare unto you all the counsel of God" (Acts 20:27)

6. Preached his conversion experience (Acts 22)

7. Lived in all good conscience before God (Acts 23:1)

8. "Believing all things which are written" in the Bible. (Acts 24:14 says, "written in the law and in the prophets". Paul believed the scriptures that God provided for him. To follow his example, you believe the scriptures that God provided for you, the Authorized King James Bible.)

9. He believed God (Acts 27:25)

10. He was everywhere spoken against (Acts 28:22)

11. "Teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ" (Acts 28:31)

12. "With all confidence" (Acts 28:31)

13. "A servant of Jesus Christ" (Romans 1:1)

14. Unconcerned about man's judgment (1 Corinthians 4:3-4)

15. Follower of Christ (1 Corinthians 11:1)

16. Contemptible and rude in speech, yet not in knowledge (2 Corinthians 10:10; 11:6)

17. Not a man pleaser (Galatians 1:10)

18. "Crucified with Christ" (Galatians 2:20)

19. Boldly told the truth (Galatians 4:16)

20. "Set for the defence of the gospel" (Philippians 1:17)

21. "Praying always" (Colossians 1:3; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 3:10; Philemon 1:4)

22. "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." (2 Timothy 4:7)

When a man follows Paul, "as his manner was", there are seven things that happen (see beginning text):

1. Some will believe and consort with him.

2. Others will not believe.

3. Non believers are filled with envy.

4. They gather a company of lewd fellows.

5. They set people on an uproar.

6. They accuse Bible believers of turning the world upside down.

7. Bible believers are called a sect or cult and are everywhere spoken against.
